'Elon is looming': Jasmine Crockett mocks 'family spat' between Musk and Trump

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) mocked the "family spat" that has been brewing between former DOGE administrator Elon Musk and President Donald Trump over a government spending bill.

At a DOGE subcommittee hearing on Wednesday, Crockett noted that Chair Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) had called the hearing to address non-governmental organizations "bypassing Congress."

"It seems like that's all that has happened, actually, this Congress," she said, referring to Musk's DOGE efforts. "In fact, it's why we've had to spend so much time in courts."

"I am going to get back to Elon," she continued. "Because Elon is looming over every single DOGE hearing. You know why? Because that's supposedly what Elon was heading up, but now they don't want to talk about Elon."

Crockett observed that Musk was "upset" after he called Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill" an "abomination" and said it should be "killed."

"There's a family spat that's obviously going on, and it is going to play out," the lawmaker added. "It seems like it's all over Twitter."

Following her remarks, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) opined on Crockett's observations.

"I think the irony of all our ironies here is that our friends across the aisle keep bringing up Elon Musk and what a great person he is," he complained. "And I guess about a week ago, they were out to kill him."
