The former Republican attorney general of Virginia is being sued for wrongful termination by an ex-staffer who claims she had been looking into improperly diverted taxpayer funds in his office.
According to Joe Dodson of Courthouse News, "Financial services manager Linda Orr sued former Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, alleging wrongful termination. Orr claims the firing came after she observed the OAG giving tax $ to a company with multiple OAG attorneys serving as executive leadership."
Adding to the suspicion, Dodson continued, "The company, Virginia Fighting Task Force, seems to lack a website."
The suit was filed in federal court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
Miyares, who was first elected to the attorney general post in the Republican sweep of 2021, lost his bid for a second term to Democrat Jay Jones in 2025, in a contentious and heated race.
