President Donald Trump and the new interim US Attorney, Jeanine Pirro, suffered an awkward moment with the media Wednesday afternoon after her swearing-in ceremony.
Pirro gave a short speech and touched on what will be her first investigation, the murders of two Israeli embassy staffers outside the city’s Jewish museum.
Pirro, a former judge and prosecutor, thanked Trump for the appointment.
The media clapped as Pirro, a former Fox News host, stepped aside.

Trump then gestured to Pirro and the media before saying, “You don't want to ask questions?”
Pirro then approached the podium smiling. No one in the media spoke up.
“You just want to talk to him, I get it,” Pirro said. The comments got a laugh from the room.
“She’s going to be fantastic. Thank you very much,” Trump said.
“No questions?” he asked the room before turning to Pirro and saying, “You are going to be fantastic.”
Trump is then seen approaching the podium, and the media voraciously asked several questions.
Pirro was appointed to the position after Ed Martin was unable to garner enough GOP support to be sworn in as US attorney.
