Democrats pounced on a new report that confirms President Donald Trump's name is mentioned in the Jeffrey Epstein files.

The Wall Street Journal published an exclusive report on Wednesday that says Attorney General Pam Bondi told Trump in May that his name is in the troves of Epstein files. The report also confirmed that several other high-profile people are mentioned in the files as well.

White House communications director Steven Cheung called the report "fake news."

But that didn't stop lawmakers and analysts from sharing their thoughts about the story on social media.

"Trump has known for at least TWO MONTHS that his name is in the Epstein files — and his administration refuses to release them or provide even a bit of transparency," Sen Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) posted on X. "He's doing all he can to bob, weave and distract, but the public deserves to know. RELEASE THE FILES NOW!"

"Release the files," former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) wrote on X.

"We need to have transparency now," Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) posted on X. "@SpeakerJohnson must immediately reverse his decision to prevent @RepThomasMassie and my bill to release the Epstein Files & protect victims from getting a vote. Keep the House open this week and have the vote."

"No one is surprised," New York Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul posted on X. "Release the files."

"I, for one, am shocked," Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz posted on his personal X account.

"The WSJ confirms what everyone with a brain assumed was the reason for the DOJ refusing to release the Epstein files," David Schwartz, former executive committee member of the Brooklyn Democratic Party, posted on Bluesky.

"Oh, and surprise. Trump lied when asked whether Bondi told him his name was in there," journalist Marcy Wheeler posted on Bluesky. "Why would you lie if you weren't covering something up?"
