Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) left a meeting with 22 Republicans who are refusing to vote for him to speaker, but refused to say a word. According to reporters, he seemed very upset and didn't take any photos.

Upon leaving the meeting, Carlos A. Giménez (R-FL) told reporters "no minds were changed and that Jordan was encouraged in the meeting to drop out," said Politico's Jordain Carney.

Daily Mail congressional reporter Morgan Phillips said that she asked Rep. Giménez if there was something Jordan could give in return for the votes.

“We want nothing. That’s the problem is we want nothing,” he says of the 22 Republicans.

Rep. John Rutherford (R-FL) said that they communicated to Jordan that they all wanted him to drop the bid for the position entirely.

“He needed to know there’s no way forward for a speakership. He missed his moment in leadership when he failed Steve Scalise. That was pretty much everybody's opinion," Rutherford told Semafor's Joseph Zeballos-Roig.

Reuters was able to zoom in on a photo of the notes Jordan was carrying upon leaving the room. Among the things scribbled: “What is the real reason."

Speaker Pro-Temp Patrick McHenry (R-NC) told reporters that he isn't certain if he'll hold the third vote for Jordan tonight.

Meanwhile, NBC News reports that McHenry will quit if Republicans try to push through legislation without having a speaker.
