Jimmy Kimmel has hit back at Donald Trump after the president called for the talk show host to be taken off the air.

In a furious post made to Truth Social on November 20, Trump wrote, "Why does ABC Fake News keep Jimmy Kimmel, a man with NO TALENT and VERY POOR TELEVISION RATINGS, on the air? Why do the TV Syndicates put up with it? Also, totally biased coverage. Get the bum off the air!!!"

Kimmel has since responded to the president's raging Truth Social post on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The president has put pressure on Kimmel previously this year, with the 58-year-old's show briefly suspended from September 17 to September 22.

The talk show host has since addressed the Truth Social post during his opening monologue. Kimmel joked that "the angry orange posted" about his show. He added, "I'm the bum? I'm the bum? And he posted this, this is interesting, at 12:49AM, 11 minutes after the show ended on the East Coast, which is nice."

"He watches us live, hi Mr. President. How are ya? Thanks for watching us on TV instead of on YouTube. We appreciate that, and I'll tell ya, it's viewers like you who keep us on the air, ironically."

"It's also sweet that, even in the middle of the biggest sex scandal in the history of the American presidency, he takes precious time on the toilet to post about our show. He keeps saying we have bad ratings and you should listen to him, because if anyone knows about bad ratings, it's that guy."

The president has made few allies in the late-night television sphere, previously posting about Stephen Colbert, whose Late Show will end next season.

Trump targeted Kimmel and the Live! show with a post to Truth Social showing the president is furious at the entertainer. Kimmel had taken a jab at Trump during the show's opening monologue and referred to the signing of the Epstein files bill.

He said, "We are carefully following the path of Hurricane Epstein right now. It's a category five, it's expected to make landfall sometime very soon, we are now one step closer to answering the question 'what did the president know?' and 'how old were these women when he knew them?'"
