Pressure may mount for Donald Trump over the release of Jeffrey Epstein's files, according to Jimmy Kimmel who believes a "cover-up" is in the works.

The talk show host returned to screens earlier this week and wasted no time ripping into Trump and what could turn into a messy moment in the president's second term. While the rollout of the Epstein files has slowed under the Department of Justice, it appears time is running out for the administration, according to the host.

Kimmel said, "Trump may have another messy cover-up on his hands, and I'm not talking about the messy cover-up that is literally on his hands. I'm talking about something much worse than that.

"I do want to clarify, we don't know if the president took part in or even knew about any of the crimes his best friend, the world's most notorious pedophile, committed, but I should also say that the reason we don't know is because the people who work for the president blacked out his name a bunch of times and made interviews disappear.

"Seems to me that the best thing for President Trump, who I'm sure did nothing wrong, is to order them to unredact his name and release all of the Trump-Epstein files so we know how unbelievably innocent he is."

Donald Trump has spoken frequently of the Epstein files and has denied any involvement in the files when asked by reporters.

Records from a woman who accused both President Donald Trump and late financier and convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein of sexual assault were missing in the Epstein files released by the Department of Justice, according to a New York Times report Wednesday.

The uncorroborated accusation stems from a woman who came forward to the FBI in 2019 after Epstein was arrested, The Times reported. In the bureau memos, she said she was attacked by both men in the 1980s, when she was a minor.

Kimmel then shifted focus to FBI Director Kash Patel, with the agency head vowing to find the missing 53 pages. The talk show host joked that he would only find them if they were "in the shower of the US men's gold medal winning hockey team."

Patel flew over to Italy to celebrate with the US team following their historic victory at the Winter Olympics.
