President Joe Biden issued preemptive pardons to extended family members moments before President-elect Donald Trump's swearing-in.
While Biden was at Trump's inaugural ceremony, the Justice Department announced pardons for James Biden, Sarah Jones Biden, Valerie Biden Owens, John T. Owens, and Francis W. Biden.

The "full and unconditional" pardons for Biden's brother and other family members come after preemptive pardons for Gen. Mark Milley, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and members of the Jan. 6 Select Committee in Congress. Biden previously issued a pardon for his son Hunter Biden.
