Pastor Joel Osteen has blamed the "forces of evil" for a recent shooting at his Lakewood Church.

Speaking at the press conference with the police in Houston, Osteen reminded the world that "God is in control," though he didn't explain how God was involved in this case.

"We have been here 65 years," Osteen told the press. "To have somebody shooting in your church — we don't understand why these things happen. We know God is in control. We are going to pray for that 5-year-old boy and pray for the lady that was deceased, her family and all and the other gentleman."

He admitted he was in a "fog" before saying, "There are forces of evil. The forces that are for us, forces of God, are stronger than that. They will go strong and do what God has called us to do, lift people up and give hope to the world."

Two others were shot at the church, one man in his hip and the 5-year-old child that the shooter brought with her.
