
Rep. John Joyce (R-PA) struggled on the House floor Tuesday afternoon while trying to introduce a resolution designating Sept. 12 as the “Day of the Bible,” fumbling the words "English language multiple times,
"This joint resolution will formally designate Sept. 12 as the 'Day of the Bible' to honor the first complete English langel, engwish, englan – English language Bible that was produced in America."
Joyce was speaking in the first moments of the House’s first floor day following Congress’s August recess, with lawmakers expected to address a litany of big-ticket items. From managing a bi-partisan effort to force a vote on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files, to avoiding a government shutdown, many of the topics on the agenda Tuesday are likely to re-ignite “major headaches” for Trump-loyal lawmakers.
Joyce is among those Trump loyalists, having backed the president’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, voting against the election’s certification, and signing onto a brief in support of a lawsuit filed against the Supreme Court in opposition to the 2020 election results.
