"Last Week Tonight" host John Oliver began his Sunday show attacking the new Republican Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson (R-LA).

Among the most hilarious things Oliver discovered was Susan Collins saying the most Susan Collins thing she could say.

"Very little was known about Johnson ahead of this week, Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) even said, "I was going to Google him this morning ...."

The problem, Oliver explained, is that people actually started to do that.

"The results weren't great," he said, showing a CBS Evening News report showing Johnson calling abortion "a holocaust that has been repeated every day for 32 years since 1973's Roe v. Wade." He's gone on to call gay people "inherently unnatural." He also spoke at a conference hosted by a pastor who advocates society should "kill the gays."

After the mass shooting in Maine that killed 18 people and injured dozens more, Johnson tied the shooting to teaching evolution. Collins hasn't commented on whether she's Googled that yet.

"Yeah, pretty bad," Oliver conceded. "But, let's face it's not like the new Republican speaker wasn't going to have a laundry list of horrifying opinions. Honestly, it would be more surprising if he threw a couple of good ones in there too. He believes abortion is a holocaust, that Friday should be passed as the weekend, gay marriage is inherently unnatural, we need more women in STEM and there should be parks where adults can ride down the giant inflatable slide they use when planes crash."

Oliver explained that in the short time that Johnson has been around, he expects for there to be more than enough to say in the coming weeks. For now, it's clear that Johnson is the new representation for today's GOP.
