Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) fled the stage after pro-Palestinian protesters interrupted an event with members of Congress.
While appearing at an Axios event on Wednesday, Hawley was interrupted by protesters angry over his support for Israel.
"Alright, let's leave the stage," Axios reporter Stef Kight told Hawley.
"Are you sure?" the senator asked.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, we can go," she said.
"Shame on you!" the protesters shouted.
Moments later, the pair returned to the stage.
"We appreciate and understand that people feel passionately about some of these issues," Kight remarked. "We do ask that you be respectful and allow us to continue our conversation."
