A Maryland police officer was arrested Thursday and accused of taking part in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, The Washington Post reported.

Justin Lee, 25, took part in the riot before he joined the Montgomery County Police Department, prosecutors claim. He was charged with assaulting a D.C. police officer and impeding police during a civil disorder, which are both felonies, as well as other charges. He has been suspended without pay from the police department.

As part of his service in the police department, Lee was involved in a fatal shooting last July which is currently under investigation, the Post reported.
