The step-daughter of Vice President Kamala Harris defended "Momala" following Republican attacks that “childless” people shouldn’t be lawmakers with an Instagram post Thursday.
“How can you be 'childless' when you have cutie pie kids like Cole and I,” Ella Emhoff posted in an Instagram story, tagging her mother, Kerstin Emhoff, in the post. “I love my three parents.”
The clapback comes as Republicans take heavy criticism for doubling down on vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance’s dismissal of Democratic leaders as miserable “childless cat ladies.”

Not a cat lady herself, Emhoff was stalked by TMZ paparazzi while walking her dog in Brooklyn on Thursday. She brushed off requests for an interview from a reporter, simply saying Vance’s comment on “cat ladies” was “upsetting,” before walking off.
Kerstin Emhoff told CNN in a statement Wednesday, “These are baseless attacks."
"For over 10 years, since Cole and Ella were teenagers, Kamala has been a co-parent with Doug and I. She is loving, nurturing, fiercely protective, and always present."
