Semafor is reporting that a highly mysterious right-wing group has been pushing a sexual smear campaign against Vice President Kamala Harris.
According to the report, the group is so secretive that it held Zoom calls over the summer where participants did not identify themselves and their computers' cameras were turned off to mask their true identities.
The content of the call was no mystery, however.
"The influencers’ marching orders were clear: make a series of lurid sexual jibes aimed at Harris, the least crude of which was comparing her to Haliey Welch, the 'Hawk Tuah girl' who became a viral sensation over a video of her discussing oral sex," the publication reports.
Nonetheless, Semafor did manage to identify one participant in the call: Disgraced former Rep. George Santos (R-NY), who actually believed that the call's organizers were going too far in pushing a smear campaign accusing Harris of using sexual favors to advance her career.

"At that point, a recognizable voice on the anonymous call spoke up to object: Santos, the former Long Island congressman who now faces sentencing in federal court and has remade himself as a social media figure, announced that he disapproved of the messaging and left the call," Semafor writes.
After taking part in the call, Santos posted a tweet that disparaged the call's strategy and lamented, "Please God, make it stop."
Semafor also notes that the funding behind the call remains a mystery, as "organizers told participants that the money was connected to a wealthy American, who they named — but a political operation that figure is connected to heatedly denied any connection to the influencer operation, and there’s no evidence to link them."
