Failed candidate to be Arizona's governor Kari Lake lashed out at media reports that say she has been spending a lot of time at Mar-a-Lago even though her relationship with former President Donald Trump has reportedly soured.
"I first got into politics reluctantly," Lake told Steve Bannon on Monday. "I didn't want to get into politics, but the people of Arizona asked me to. I figured that the media, when they wrote these hit pieces, that there was always a little sliver of truth, right?"
"Now I know they just make things up from scratch. Nothing is true," she continued. "And you know, it's funny, the attacks that have come at me, Steve, in the past couple of weeks, I mean, one of the BS articles had me living at Mar-a-Lago, which is absolutely ludicrous."
Lake also complained about other reports that said Trump was less likely to pick her as his vice presidential running mate.
"They have me on the outs and that the MAGA world is done with me," she remarked. "It doesn't make sense. They are desperate. They're grasping for straws. They're grasping for anything because they know that we're coming at them."
