President Donald Trump's press secretary was scolded on Wednesday after she made a strange claim during an interview on Fox News.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt joined Fox News host John Roberts on "America Reports"' to discuss Trump's speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos. During the speech, Trump rebuked America's allies in Europe and made several false or misleading claims about his accomplishments on the world's stage and at home.
The New York Times fact-checked 12 false or misleading claims the president made during the speech.
Leavitt told Roberts that Trump received "rave reviews" for his speech, though many observers had a starkly different reaction.
"No, Karoline...the reviews said he was raving," Rick Wilson, co-founder of The Lincoln Project, posted on X. "There's a difference."
"Liars gonna lie, but too many witnesses were there for even her to pull this lie off," former Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH) posted on X.
"They must take classes in lying and to keep smiling and talking positive even when you know it’s a s--- show," Greg Canty, partner at Fuzion Comms, posted on X.
