White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt became the subject of widespread ridicule after being photographed holding a newspaper featuring a political cartoon depicting President Donald Trump as a Nazi.
"Leavitt's photo was taken for a piece published in the Independent Women's Forum spotlighting the work of White House makeup artist Brittany Danielle, who is responsible for the press secretary's makeup," The Daily Mail Express wrote.
The image was featured on the Independent Women's Forum and highlighted White House makeup artist Brittany Danielle's work. However, the Nazi depiction quickly overshadowed the intended focus.
Social media users and commentators seized on the gaffe, with humorist Paul Rudnick joking, “Karoline Leavitt is reading a newspaper with an editorial cartoon of Trump as a Nazi. She explained, ‘He only wears that uniform at Mar-a-Lago.’”
