Karoline Leavitt, the spokesperson for Donald Trump's 2024 campaign, claimed that the former president was "doing more" than President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and the Federal Emergency Management Agency regarding hurricane response.
Leavitt made the remarks on Real America's Voice Tuesday as Hurricane Milton was bearing down on Florida and while many Americans were continuing to recover from Hurricane Helene.
"As President Trump has expressed, we care most about lives and helping American lives if we can, not so much about votes," the spokesperson asserted. "And that's why President Trump has done so much, even not being in the White House, to help our fellow Americans."
Leavitt pointed out that Trump had raised $6 million through a GoFundMe page.
"We have directed all of that money, it is going to be going towards nonprofits on the ground who are delivering disaster assistance and relief," she said. "And we're really showing up when the federal government is not."

"President Trump is doing more than Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, who spent a billion dollars from FEMA on illegal immigrant housing, transportation, prepaid debit cards and food."
According to FEMA, the agency put thousands of government workers in place before Hurricane Helene hit the southeast.
