The U.S. Senate has confirmed Kash Patel to take over the FBI.

Patel escaped crashing out of the confirmation votes by a narrow margin. Two Republicans, Sens. Susan Collins (ME) and Lisa Murkowski (AK), voted against him, while all Democrats opposed him.

The final vote was 51-49.

Patel has written a book in which he brags about having an enemies list that he will seek retribution against. No senators asked by Raw Story admitted to have reading it.

There are approximately 5,000 FBI employees who were involved in investigating the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and there are questions about whether they will all be fired under Patel.

Another previous statement Patel gave was that he wants to shut down the FBI office in Washington and turn it into a museum of the "deep state."
