Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany praised Donald Trump on Thursday after the former president attacked her as a "globalist" and a "RINO."
McEnany reacted on live television to Trump's speech to a small group in Urbandale, Iowa.
"That's a small, intimate crowd, which is how you view Iowa," she said. "He is very good at that. In fact, I don't know that there's anyone in the race that can do it quite like him in a room with voters."
McEnany fondly recalled campaigning with Trump while serving as his White House press secretary.
"I'll never forget him talking to fishermen," she continued. "Like voters who had tears in their eyes, who said, these four years have meant this to me and got to express that gratitude."
The Fox News host said Trump was "very charming" at small events.
"And his most winning moments there, we're talking about his record with vets," she gushed. "We're talking about his right to try legislation, talking about how he filled up our oil reserves."
"So if he can stick to policy and have that charm, it's going to be hard to close that 30-point gap," McEnany added. "Doable, but hard."
Just a day earlier, Trump had launched an attack on his former press secretary because of coverage on Fox News.
"He’s completely unhinged," Marc Thiessen wrote on Twitter.
