Republican compares peaceful ICE protest to Hamas' horrific Oct 7 Israel attack

Rep. Keith Self (R-TX) compared peaceful protesters who showed up to demonstrate against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at a church in Minnesota to the deadly Oct. 7 Hamas attacks on Israel.

During a Tuesday Newsmax interview, Self was asked about the decision to interrupt church services over the weekend because the pastor was thought to work for ICE.

"The war on Christianity is going on around the world," the lawmaker said as he called for prosecutions. "Look, when you live-stream something, you wanted to cause terror in the population."

"That's the definition of terror to cause fear amongst the population," he continued. "So when they live-streamed it, I compare them to Hamas, who live-streamed the attack in Israel. They killed thousands of, hundreds of people, especially in that one festival."

"So that's what they want to do. They want to instill terror. I think the federal authorities ought to go after them."
