'Dude, they're still going to hate you': Scorn befalls Ken Buck's call to bench Biden

Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) tried to lob a political grenade Tuesday by demanding Vice President Kamala Harris bench President Joe Biden by invoking the 25th Amendment, but it may have exploded in his hand.

"Biden no longer has the mental stamina needed to serve as president," Buck wrote on X. "That's why I'm urging the vice president and Cabinet to remove President Biden via the 25th amendment."

Buck cites special counsel Robert Hur's report on his classified documents probe that accused the 81-year-old of being an “elderly man with a poor memory” and noted how Biden mixed up the president of Egypt as “the president of Mexico.”

But since he posted his call for Biden's early dismissal, many outlets and those in the X sphere have taken some potshots at him.

John Dean, who served as White House counsel under Richard Nixon tweeted: “Just when you think there may be a few normal Republicans, you discover they are all crazy."

"I’m embarrassed to be one of your constituents," reads a tweet by @ralphtavino.

"Ole RINO Ken tryin to save face," writes @ElmerFu57099800. "Too late Buck, you will go down in history as one of the worst Republican Reps of all time."

"Ken you are an utter disgrace and embarrassment for CO4," writes @SaveTheBees303. "How about doing something useful like stopping grocery price gouging."

@lyndalou77 responded: "Be careful for what you wish for, could be worse!"

"Seems you're trading CNNKen for OANKen," writes @COBlue459. "And just when I thought you had a spine."

Buck also won over some like @BeckyNKOTB who praised him: "Thank you! Finally someone had enough b---- to do it!"

This view was not shared by Esquire writer Charles P. Pierce, who offered Buck some advice.

"Ken, dude, they're still going to hate you," he wrote, "even as you flagellate yourself with idiotic resolutions."
