Republican billionaire Ken Griffin hit out against Florida's latest so-called "Don't Say Gay" law in Harvard's student newspaper Tuesday, saying that while he thinks discussions about gender and sexuality should be conducted by parents at home, the new law goes too far.

“Like the vast majority of Americans, Ken believes that discussions on gender identity and sexual orientation should be led by parents with their children at home, rather than by teachers in elementary schools,” a spokesperson for Griffin wrote in The Crimson. “However, as a steadfast supporter of open discourse, academic freedom, and free speech, Ken disagrees with Florida’s recent rule extending the prohibition of classroom instruction on these topics through 12th grade.”

As The Daily Beast points out, Griffin previously was a supporter of Donald Trump but has since soured on the former president, calling him a “three-time loser."

Griffin is a Harvard graduate who ran a side business as an options and bonds trader, utilizing $265,000 he raised from friends and family members during his time at the school.
