President Donald Trump's Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem responded to a legal victory with a vulgar post to X on Thursday.

"Suck it," she wrote, posting an image of a filing announcing the plaintiffs in Espinoza Escalona v. Noem were voluntarily withdrawing their lawsuit without prejudice. The case sought to block the federal government from being able to transfer migrants to the infamous Guantánamo Bay detention facility.

Commenters on social media, including both X and Bluesky, had a swift reaction.

"Not AI. This is a real tweet from the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security. This is our life now," wrote the Republicans Against Trumpism account.

"This is DHS Secretary Kristi Noem saying 'suck it' in celebration over deporting people ... without due process," wrote Democratic youth influencer Harry Sisson. "She’s celebrating constitutional rights being ignored. How evil and depraved."

Meanwhile, some other commenters made snarky references to Noem's alleged longtime extramarital affair with Trump strategist Corey Lewandowski. "'Suck it'? Ma’am ... That's allegedly what got you in trouble with Corey Lewandowski in the first place," wrote influencer Alex Cole.

Still more people pointed out that the legal battle isn't necessarily over.

"She is clueless what the words mean ... without prejudice," wrote attorney and former judge pro tem Tracey Gallagher, referencing the fact that the plaintiffs reserve the right to refile the lawsuit in future.
