Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) issued Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem a stinging suggestion Friday as to what she should wear this Halloween.

“For Halloween Kristi Noem should dress up as the Secretary of Homeland Security and do her job,” Swalwell wrote in a social media post on X.

Swalwell’s jab at Noem comes shortly after Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) pleaded with Noem to pause immigration raids in the city of Chicago over the Halloween weekend, which kicked off Friday. Noem resoundingly rejected Pritzker’s request, saying that she was “absolutely not willing to put on pause any work that we will do to keep communities safe,” and called Pritzker’s request “shameful” while speaking at a press conference in Gary, Indiana.

Swalell has been confrontational with Noem in the past, blasting her back in May for a photo pushed by her agency that critics had alleged was doctored to show Kilmar Abrego Garcia – a migrant the Trump administration had sought to deport – with gang tattoos on his fingers.

Swalell has also previously called for Noem’s resignation, particularly after her security threw a Democratic lawmaker to the ground in June and shackled him in handcuffs.
