Attorney General James Uthmeier pushed for an investigation of Democratic state Sen. Linda Stewart after MAGA influencer Laura Loomer accused her of "doxxing" Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
In what she called an "exclusive" report on Monday, Loomer said Stewart was "doxxing ICE on her Facebook account & actively tracing their activities in Orlando."
As evidence, Loomer pointed to a Facebook post where Stewart said, "ICE in Lynx Central Station downtown."
Uthmeier reacted to the claims within minutes.
".@LindaStewartFL harassing law enforcement to prevent them from doing their jobs is unlawful in Florida," he wrote on X. "I'm calling on the state attorney for the 9th Circuit, @MoniqueHWorrell, to investigate."
"Stop playing politics with the lives and safety of law enforcement officers," he added.
Loomer, however, was not satisfied with Uthmeier's action.
"Monique Worrell is a radical, Leftist state attorney who has received over $1.8 million in financial support from George Soros. She was previously suspended by @GovRonDeSantis for not being tough on crime," the MAGA influencer wrote on X. "Will she stand with law and order? Or with illegal aliens and those who doxx ICE agents?"
Although Worrell was suspended by DeSantis in 2023, she was reinstated after winning a second term in 2024.
Florida has no law against so-called "doxxing," but the state does outlaw cyberstalking against specific people.
