Fox News' Trey Gowdy on Thursday took a not-so-veiled shot at Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) over her past embarrassing public behavior.

While previewing President Joe Biden's State of the Union address, Gowdy mocked the president and said his goal should be to show "some kind of mental acuity" during the proceedings.

"[American voters] want to know that he has the mental acuity to make it four more years," Gowdy declared.

But Biden wasn't the only one for whom Gowdy had some sharp jabs.

"On the Republican side, people are going to be watching to see whether or not, you know, members are vaping, or singing along with the songs, or getting handsy with a seatmate," he said. "They want to see if Republicans are they capable of acting like adults in public."

"Wow," commented host Harris Faulkner.

Summing up his preview, Gowdy said viewers want to see "if Biden can avoid falling asleep and if Republicans can avoid getting arrested."

Gowdy's comments were a clear shot at Boebert, who was ejected from a production of the "Beetlejuice" musical in Denver last year for vaping during the performance.

Surveillance footage subsequently showed that Boebert and her date at the theater were aggressively groping one another, and that Boebert flipped theater staffers the middle finger as they were escorting her out.

Boebert showed contrition and apologized for her actions, although the drama surrounding her has continued this year, as her 18-year-old son was arrested for allegedly robbing a woman with a brain tumor late last month.
