'Hated' Matt Gaetz faces multiple sordid allegations: Morning Joe panel

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) managed to oust Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as House speaker, and panelists on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" suggested he made the move to wriggle out of personal problems.

McCarthy was widely disliked by his fellow Republicans and barely managed to win the speaker's gavel earlier this year, but Gaetz didn't win any friends by introducing a motion to vacate his position that passed with eight GOP votes and the backing of the Democratic caucus.

'Killing neighbors over politics': Expert warns extremism is tearing apart communities

Political extremists have been radicalized to the point that it is causing random acts of violence all over the country as people turn on their neighbors, warned the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace's Rebecca Kleinfeld in an interview with Salon Monday.

On one hand, Kleinfeld argued, we are seeing less of the sort of organized rioting that grabbed headlines through much of the Trump years, from the neo-Nazi Charlottesville "Unite the Right" rally to the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol — in large part because far-right activists have become paranoid and believe any large gathering within their movement is an FBI false flag.

The hardline 'Nutjob Caucus' holding Republican feet to the fire

To supporters it is a conservative North Star -- that rare example of a political movement willing to put the little guy first and stand against corruption and waste in Washington.

Trump attacking Democrat admits 'obstructing a congressional proceeding is actually a crime': MSNBC host

After his Iowa speech on Sunday, Donald Trump went to a farm to inspect a giant tractor. While there, he attacked Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) a second time for pulling the fire alarm in the House office building during the main Saturday vote.

Bowman released a statement Sunday saying that he was trying to get out of a locked door in one of the office buildings to race over to the Capitol to vote. He did not, as previously rumored, pull the fire alarm to stop the vote. The alarm would not have stopped the vote, as they were in two different buildings.
