Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) referred to Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake (R) as "the Miss America of the MAGA movement."
At an Iowa campaign event supporting Donald Trump on Monday, Gaetz was introduced by Rep. Byron Donald (R-FL).
"When the Trump train rolls into town, we roll pretty deep," Gaetz remarked to the crowd. "We got Kari Lake. I was watching Kari Lake up here, and I was thinking about that new Miss America we got. And it kind of seems like Kari Lake is the Miss America of the MAGA movement with grace and charm and elegance."

"And getting to speak after Byron Donalds and before my good friend Wesley Hunt, who I'll introduce in a minute," he added, "I kind of feel this is like the double stuffed Oreo portion of your program."
Both men are black, and Gaetz is white.
