A break-in was reported at the home where Minnesota House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman (D) and her husband were killed by a gunman last week.
Brooklyn Park police said someone appeared to have removed plywood from the boarded-up home.
"It was discovered that the plywood covering the rear window of the home had been pried off and the window broken to gain entry," a police statement said on Wednesday.
The home had been boarded up on Sunday, and family members began removing "items of value" on Tuesday, police said.
Family members "don't believe anything was missing," the statement added.
Anyone with information about the break-in was urged to call the Brooklyn Park Police Department at 763-493-8222.
Alleged shooter Vance Boelter, 57, remains in police custody after being captured this week.
