Michelle Obama and comedian Hasan Minhaj joked about the current state of America during a podcast interview on Monday.

Minhaj joined the former first lady and her brother Craig Robinson for their podcast "IMO," poking fun at how the United States has shifted under President Donald Trump, noting that the new version has a different look and feel.

"Well, that's the 2.0 of life, and when we talk about how do you feel about the country? You know, there are versions of the country that happen, right? And the new version doesn't make the old one bad. It's necessary for growth. And I think we're in just a janky version," Obama said.

The comedian responded, asking permission to curse on the show.

"S--- is jank right now. It's super jank," Minhaj said.
