Donald Trump has recently received criticism for saying his former top general deserved the death penalty. Now, he's doubling down.

General Mark Milley recently responded to Trump's comments about him, saying he wishes they hadn't been made but that he has adequate protection for himself and his family. Trump had claimed Milley might deserve death for his dealings with China.

Although Trump was called out by various people on all sides of the aisle for his Milley comment, on Friday he decided to strike again.

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?

Trump began on Friday by calling Milley "slow moving."

"Slow moving and thinking Mark Milley should never have made those calls to China’s Military Leadership," Trump posted to his Truth Social site. "Does this moron, together with WOKE FOOL Mark Yesper (Esper!), who said 'yes' to everything, have any idea how dangerous a situation he put our Country in? Look at his words - STUPID & VERY DANGEROUS!"

Earlier in the day, Milley had made a veiled jab at Trump during the general's retirement ceremony, referring to him as a "wannabe dictator."
