Democratic lawmakers overnight reportedly held the Senate floor in protest the nomination of Russell Vought, who's involved with Project 2025, to lead the Office of Management and Budget.
Roll Call reports that, "Cloture was invoked Wednesday afternoon on a 53-47 party-line vote, limiting debate on the Vought nomination to 30 hours. Democrats decided not to yield time and scheduled speakers to keep the floor occupied through the night."
"If all the debate time is used, Vought will likely be confirmed around 7 p.m. Thursday," the outlet stated Thursday.

Roll Call also quotes a late-night speech from freshman Sen. Andy Kim, D-N.J., who reportedly said, "Russell Vought was born to make corruption safe again... Vought believes that all of the power in the executive branch belongs to the president and the president alone.”
Senator Chris Murphy early Thursday morning told social media about his shift protesting the President's OMB nominee.
"Just finished 3 hours of speaking on the floor - I took the 2-5am shift in Democrats’ effort to hold the floor all night in protest over OMB nominee Russel Vought," Murphy wrote.
"My voice is shot," he added before stating that, "Tonight is important."
