MAGA Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) turned her ire on a Democratic colleague on Wednesday and introduced a resolution to expel fellow Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), who faces a federal assault charge on dubious allegations of attacking law enforcement officers this month while protesting at a federal immigrant detention center.
"On May 9th, McIver didn't just break the law, she attacked the very people who defend it," Mace said in a news release announcing the House Resolution. "Attacking Homeland Security and ICE agents isn't just disgraceful, it's assault. If any other American did what she did, they'd be in handcuffs.
"McIver thinks being a Member of Congress puts her above the law. It doesn't. She should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

Interim New Jersey U.S. Attorney Alina Habba announced this week her decision to charge Mclver with felony assault. Legal experts have cast doubts about the strength of her case, and some have said Habba may have put the case on the fast-track to nowhere.
Habba said she charged McIver with "violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 111(a)(1) for assaulting, impeding and interfering with law enforcement." She attached a statement claiming, "I have persistently made efforts to address these issues without bringing criminal charges and have given Representative McIver every opportunity to come to a resolution, but she has unfortunately declined."
MSNBC legal expert Lisa Rubin has noted the charges have yet to be public or even received by McIver, which she called "unusual." Rubin couldn't "recall another instance in which you see a U.S. attorney going out publicly as charges are filed and before they're even in the defendant's own hands, which is something we know from her legal team and saying, we tried to negotiate a solution here and that wasn't forthcoming."
