'You are absolutely ridiculous!' Nancy Mace derails House debate with screaming fit
U.S. House of Representatives/screen grab

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) screamed on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives after Rep. Sarah Jacobs (D-CA) noted that Botox and other common procedures were gender-affirming care.

The outburst came during a debate Wednesday over Mace's bill to outlaw transgender children in military families from competing in women's sports.

"The trannies need to stop harassing the rest of America," Mace argued. "We're just fighting back, and we're going to protect every woman and girl, every single daughter in the United States, but particularly for our service members, our women in uniform. The Republican Party is the party of common sense, we're the party of normal, or the party of women."

Jacobs pointed out that Mace seemed to have an obsession with trans people and gender-affirming care.

"Filler is gender affirming care," she noted. "Boob jobs is gender-affirming care. Botox is gender-affirming care. Lots of my colleagues have received gender-affirming care."

"And let me be clear, I think everyone should have access to the gender-affirming care that they need," she added. "And I think we should respect everybody in this country."

As she yielded, Mace could be heard screaming out of turn.

"Ridiculous! You are absolutely ridiculous!" the Republican lawmaker yelled before her microphone was cut off. Although she continued to shout, it was not immediately clear what she said.

"The lady is not recognized," the chair said. "The house will be in order!"

Jacobs later asked for Mace's words to be "taken down" and removed from the record, but Republicans denied her request.
