On Tuesday, CNN reported that Fox Business host Neil Cavuto has tested positive for COVID-19 — and wants to impress upon people that the vaccine protected him from the worst of the illness.

"While I'm somewhat stunned by this news, doctors tell me I'm lucky as well," said Cavuto, according to a statement from Fox News Media. "Had I not been vaccinated, and with all my medical issues, this would be a far more dire situation. It's not, because I did and I'm surviving this because I did." He added that "I hope anyone and everyone gets that message loud and clear. Get vaccinated, for yourself and everyone around you."

Cavuto has long tried to act as a voice of reason at the right-wing Fox Business network, particularly when it comes to COVID-19 misinformation.

He corrected former Trump Housing Secretary Ben Carson when he tried to push an unproven COVID therapy involving a malaria drug, fact-checked the former president when he suggested injecting disinfectants, and warned that these suggestions hyped by Trump and right-wing personalities "will kill you."

Trump, for his part, has raged at Cavuto for contradicting him, last year even retweeting people who called him "an idiot," "foolish," and "gullible."
