
A reporter covering New York Gov. Kathy Hochul's new plan to prevent trucks striking bridges was stunned after she traveled to a common problem bridge — and happened to catch a truck striking the bridge at that exact moment.
"As I'm working on a story ... I got video of a truck crashing into this bridge on Young Street in the City of Tonawanda," wrote WKBW's Kristen Mirand on X.
The video clearly showed a truck without the proper clearance trying to pass under the bridge, and the top being sheared off the truck, sending bits of metal flying everywhere behind it.

The driver of the truck was uninjured, reported Mirand. However, she added, "if you know this bridge, this happens quite often."
