'Utter disgrace': Experts decry 'disdain and disrespect' as Pam Bondi faces senators

Attorney General Pam Bondi testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday where she was asked pointed questions about sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, former FBI Director James Comey and White House Executive Associate Director of Enforcement and Removal Operations Tom Homan, who was investigated for allegedly accepting a bribe.

The sense from those watching the hearing was that each time Bondi was asked a difficult question, instead of answering, she shouted and made accusations about the Democratic senator she was speaking to.

"Pam Bondi should stop talking about other people refusing to release Epstein files...and release the Epstein files, as she promised to," said lawyer David Laurie on Bluesky.

"NOTABLE -- Pam Bondi refuses to answer direct questions about if the FBI has incriminating photos of Trump with half-naked young women, but instead deflects from them by attacking Sen. Whitehouse," pointed out journalist Aaron Rupar, who writes the "Public Notice" newsletter.

"Whatever makes you sleep better at night, Boomer," said national security lawyer Bradley P. Moss, responding to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) claiming "Arctic Frost" was "worse than Watergate." Rupar, who posted the clip of the exchange, noted he had no idea what "Arctic Frost" is.

Political podcast host Brian Allen pointed to the exchange between Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Bondi in which the senator asked about those who searched through the investigation files of sex offender Epstein looking for Trump's name. Bondi replied, "I'm not going to discuss anything about that with you." Durbin shot back, "Eventually, you're going to have to answer for your conduct."

The progressive site "The Tennessee Holler" also noticed that every time Bondi was asked a difficult question, in one case about the $50,000 bribe that Trump advisor and ally Tom Homan is accused of accepting, Bondi "LASHES OUT aggressively, avoids answering entirely."

Majid Padellan, also known as influencer and author "Brooklyn Dad Defiant," commented, "I have never seen a less professional demeanor from an Attorney General, or ANY member of the government, in a long time than I'm seeing from Pam Bondi. She is an utter disgrace."

The progressive platform "Call to Activism" pointed to Bondi refusing to answer Durbin's questions, saying, "Pam Bondi’s hearing is already a DISASTER as she starts YELLING instead of answering his questions. They can’t answer questions because she is as CORRUPT as can be. What a total disgrace and embarrassment."

"There was a time when I thought Bill Barr was as bad as they could get. Then Pam Bondi speaks," said lawyer John Collins.

MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin pointed out, "Pam Bondi refuses to say whether the White House consulted her before deploying the National Guard to U.S. cities."

Former federal prosecutor Joyce Vance commented: "Hawaii Senator @maziehirono blows right past AG Bondi's tone of disdain and disrespect as the AG dodges questions she's being asked, insisting on getting answers. I've never seen an AG hearing like this, and I've been watching them for decades."
