Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino stepped away Friday after he "lost his mind" over the scandal around the files in the case of Jeffrey Epstein.

Attorney General Pam Bondi made it clear multiple times that she had the files on her desk and claimed she was handing some out to right-wing influencers. However, there has been little new information released by President Donald Trump's administration.

It's causing problems between Bondi and the FBI, where both Bongino and Director Kash Patel had reassured the public that they would reveal everything. Then, suddenly, a statement went out claiming that there was no client list and no new information would be shared. Now, CNN is reporting that Bongino is considering resigning from the post.

It sent both sides of the political aisle questioning if something else was afoot.

Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) added an amendment to an appropriations bill that talks about funding for the FBI. The amendment would mandate that the files be released. It passed unanimously.

"The American people deserve to know the truth about the investigations into Jeffrey Epstein — including all evidence and any co-conspirators of his horrific crimes," he wrote on X.

"What is Trump and Bondi hiding?" asked political commentator Ed Krassenstein on X.

Julie K. Brown, investigative journalist who literally wrote the book on the Epstein case, posted, "Doesn't the President have the ability to release the files? Or to advise Bondi that 'some' of them should be released? Didn't Bongino also say that there was nothing there too? Am I missing something?"

Reporter and podcaster Wajahat Ali, of The Left Hook, said I told you so.

"I was saying this for a while. MAGA wasn't going to let Epstein files go. For years, right-wing media, including Dan Bongino, radicalized the base with conspiracies about the Deep State. Well, now Bongino, Kash Patel, and Pam Bondi are the Deep State. MAGA won't forget," he wrote on X.

However, MAGA world is particularly furious, with many saying that they feel like they've been sold a bill of goods.

Rob Coates, a conservative podcast host, wants President Donald Trump to get involved.

"Pam Bondi this…. Dan Bongino that… Nah bro.. Donald Trump is where the buck stops. He promised the American people the Epstein files and now it’s a 'waste of time.' We were lied to," wrote Coates.

Meanwhile, MAGA influencers like Ben Shapiro and Laura Loomer are continuing to beat the drum demanding accountability.

"She is an embarrassment to Donald Trump and his administration and we need to protect Trump from people who want to DRAG HIM DOWN," wrote Loomer.
