Megawatt assholes not finding fembots for sale; wingnut welfare on the case!

Apparently, Kay Hymowitz wrote an article mourning that young men spend a lot of time playing video games instead of making babies. I have my doubts---Hymowitz is a standard issue wingnut welfare writer, and therefore blaming men for anything is against her contract, unless said men can be proven not to be white---but nonetheless she's come around to make it very clear to her benefactors that if there's something wrong with young men who don't get married and make babies right out of college (something that's debatable in itself), then all of the blame can be placed on the shoulders of women. 100%, complete, not a speck of blame goes to men for male behavior. I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

Minor Devo primer and tattoos!

Okay, I've been teasing people on Twitter about this on and off, but for some reason, it took a little over a week for them to heal completely (I think it has something to do with how the artist digs the needles in to get the color really good), but Friday night is a good time for a light-hearted post anyway. So here's my new tattoos!

Friday Genius Ten "Where's That Famous Prince Reticence?" Edition

Update: Prince's people are saying he was misquoted. I'm skeptical, but glad that the blowback from the comment mattered to him. The retraction is classic ambivalence, though. Like Prince wasn't commenting on people's rights, just talking about his personal beliefs. I'll take it, though. If all godbags realized that just because gay marriage is legal doesn't mean you have to change your beliefs, this would be easier.

Napolitano: Stranger to genuine Washington scandals

Here's some irresponsible journalism at its best. Headline: "Napolitano is no stranger to Washington scandals". Ooooooh! Juicy! What kind of terrible things has the Arizona governor/new head of Homeland Security been involved in? Since we know Democrats are so much more scandalous than Republicans---can lying to a nation to get them into war ever hold a candle to lying about a blow job?---this is going to be some intriguing stuff. I feel the first round of pressure to impeach Obama coming on as we speak.

Take the train and take your life back

Via Brian, a story from Florida about how the surge in train use hasn't gone down as much as you'd think as gas prices creep down to where they were. This was my concern as I saw gas prices start going down at the pump. (In Austin, it's below $2 a gallon now.) If it deflates the cost of food that wouldn't be the worst thing for my pocketbook, but the environmentalist in me was hoping to see gas prices stay high until it forced this country to rebuild our infrastructure. We've already demonstrated we won't do squat until it's too late, so I was glad that it was looking too late before it might really be too late, and kicking people into gear. All discussions about taking steps towards discouraging car use and encouraging public transportation are usually met with a chorus of howls from people who may buy organic and recycle, but don't want to give up their cars and will cling to all negative side effects of the change without asking the question, "Are the negative aspects of the change worse than the negative aspects of continuing as is?"

Tidying up post

As of this morning, John Ziegler is beating my ass in the "who's the bigger wingnut?" contest from last night. The results are 68.3% to 31.7%. Fear not for my feelings, sympathetic readers. I had very little doubt that even the injection of rants about "homosexualists" and the heavy use of the word "jihadist" would do anything to make me sound even nuttier than Ziegler.

Huckabee: gay rights movement hasn't had enough skulls cracked to earn civil rights

It's nice to see rapist/murderer-releasing ex-governor, Baptist minister-without-a-theology-degree and failed GOP prez candidate Mike Huckabee engaging in the Oppression Olympics when it comes to doling out civil rights. In this appearance on The View, the former Arkansas chief executive thinks homos should get a taste of the Bull Connor violence in order to rise to the level of respect to beg to receive the same rights as other Americans. (h/t JMG):
