Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) played hooky from Congress on Friday to speak at a conference organized by white nationalist Nick Fuentes.

ABC News reporter Will Steakin reported Fuentes announced Gosar would be giving the keynote address at his AFPAC conference.

As Congress voted 217-205 to advance Democrats' $1.9 trillion COVID relief bill, Gosar was on the stage in Florida. Gosar had designated Rep. Yvette Herrell (R-NM) to cast his proxy vote, CSPAN's Craig Caplan reported.

Conservative author Bill Kristol explained why he did not think Gosar's vote should count after he cited a "public health emergency" for his absence.
