Top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) is refusing to support President-elect Donald Trump's nominee to the Department of Defense, according to a report.
According to Bloomberg News, Ernst "pointedly declined to support Pete Hegseth’s embattled defense secretary nomination, calling for further investigation of allegations against him."
Ernst met with Hegseth on Wednesday and told reporters nothing more than they both had a "frank" discussion. She said on X that she admired his service.
