Andrew Cherkasky, an anti-woke former federal prosecutor, defended former Fox News host Pete Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for Defense secretary, by insisting that all department officials who support women in combat roles have to be fired.
During a Wednesday interview on Real America's Voice, War Room host Steve Bannon asked Cherkasky what he would advise Hegseth to do on day one of his tenure.
"Well, the DOD instructions, as well as the individual service branches instructions and regulations that deal with DEI and equal opportunity and the massive distraction that has been caused by all of that, virtually all of that can be withdrawn," Cherkasky insisted. "I think the next thing is to root out the individuals that are at the top of the DOD that push these leftist agendas so vigorously and so relentlessly."
The attorney called for an end to investigations into "the racial makeup of court-martial panels and the intricacies of exactly what a woman can or can't do in combat."
"They get back, in that example, they get back reports that say that women are not effective in combat, and instead of actually acting on that information, they ban doing future studies of that sort so that they can find a way to put women in combat," the attorney said.

"That's one of Pete Hegseth's talking points about how to reshape the military, but getting rid of the leadership that has pushed that in the academies and the institutions, as well as through the lower rankings for years and years now, those folks have to be gone," he added.
Earlier this month, Hegseth called to remove thousands of women from combat roles.
"It hasn't made us more effective, hasn't made us more lethal, has made fighting more complicated," he told podcast host Shawn Ryan.
