White House press secretary Jen Psaki and Peter Doocy clashed in the briefing on Wednesday as the Fox News reporter demanded answers as to why the FBI is getting involved in local school board protests.
Psaki read some of the statements from the Justice Department noting that it is illegal to threaten to kill any public official, regardless of their office.
Doocy cited a statement from President Joe Biden about Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) facing off against protesters at Arizona State University claiming that it was similar to the school board threats.
"Does the President support the fundamental right of these parents to protest at these school board meetings?" Doocy asked.
"Of course but he doesn't stand for people to take violent action against people who are public servants and that's what the threats are about," said Psaki.
The Senate held hearings Tuesday about the ongoing threat local officials and their families are facing against due to mask orders or vaccines.
