CNN host Jim Acosta got into it with Donald Trump ally David Urban Wednesday morning when they discussed the incoming president's nominees coming from the author's list of "Project 2025."

The Heritage Foundation document was written by former and current Trump allies with the intention of putting forth a platform that could be implemented if he were elected. As the document spread, it quickly drew public opposition.

During the campaign, Trump promised he'd never read "Project 2025" and he had "nothing to do with it." Now that he's appointing authors to key posts, his previous comments are being questioned.

"That was all just BS wasn't it?" Acosta asked.

Urban told Acosta that many of the things outlined in the plan come from decades of Republican policy fantasies.

"I mean, you can go online and look this up, David. I mean, it's if you go through the authors of the various parts of 'Project 25.' It's a who's who, and now he is selecting people from that who's who to be in his administration," said Acosta.

"It doesn't mean you're taking the document and using it as the blueprint for how the government's going to run completely," Urban complained. "Two separate things!"

"' Project 2025' talks about tearing down the administrative state," Acosta cut in.

Urban agreed, and said that bringing down government agencies has "been part of the Republican platform for years, not just a part of 'Project 2025.' They just happen to be in this document moving forward."

Acosta noted that Trump was still on the campaign trail saying he had nothing to do with it. Urban said Trump didn't have anything to do with it.

"Really?" Acosta questioned.

"He didn't! Really," said Urban.

Acosta broke into laughter.
