Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) got caught engaging in some strange behavior at a constituent's door, but it appears he won't be facing criminal charges for it.

An earlier TMZ report confirmed video showing Fine rifling through a voter's mailbox, caught on a doorbell camera. This prompted swift calls on social media for his prosecution, since tampering with the mail is a federal offense.

But the homeowner in question has declined to press charges, TMZ said in a follow-up report.

"The Computer-Aided Dispatch report" TMZ reviewed found that "the homeowner determined after 'doing some digging' the man in her video was Fine, who rang her doorbell before going through the mailbox 'letter by letter,'" the report said.

Fine, who was first sent to Congress in a special election last year, is a divisive and controversial figure known for bizarre antics in his school days and has alienated many of his Republican colleagues.

He has triggered outrage in the past for saying that Gaza should be "nuked" like Japan in World War II.
