Florida Republican Rep. Cory Mills posted a photo of his new "dramatic tattoo," Politico reported Friday. It shows the U.S. Capitol surrounded by clouds that look at first glance like smoke. A beacon of light is coming from the cupola that sits atop the dome. It also shows "We the People" written in a font similar to the calligraphy in the Constitution's Preamble.
“As a constitutional republic our nation is founded upon our Christian Judea faith. I believe we are in spiritual warfare and need to lean on faith more now than ever. My upper arm is Archangel Michael fighting the serpent. Our Congress is meant to protect ‘We The People’ as a nation who fights good vs evil. I feel they both are meaningful and have importance to my beliefs," Mills told Politico in a text message.
The Bulwark's Will Sommer pointed out on X, "After facing allegations that he’s secretly a Muslim, Republican Rep Cory Mills got some giant Christian tattoos."
During his 2022 campaign, he was alleged to have been married by a radical Islamic cleric and unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center Bombings, Blaze Media wrote in May, when the accusations about Mills resurfaced.
Mills was in a Republican primary race for Congress against Florida state House member Anthony Sabatini.
An anti-Mills website posted what it said was his 2014 marriage certificate. Ex-Daily Beast reporter Roger Sollenberger posted about the document on X again in April, and Blaze Media confirmed the authenticity of the marriage certificate after.
The congressional opponent implied at the time that Mills was secretly a Muslim.
The Blaze had a "combative, often heated, near hour-long phone call" with Mills in which "he denied converting to Islam."
The second tattoo that depicts Archangel Michael shows him as a Roman with a sword, not surrounded by flames. In the Bible, Michael protects Paradise with a flaming sword. He appears to be slaying a creature that looks like a dragon.
