According to his Facebook page, Steve Dawson bragged he was elected as a Republican committeeman in 2022, and again in 2024. He was excited about helping Doug Mastriano win Pennsylvania's governor's race.

Mastriano lost but Dawson's advocacy has not.

The activist serves as editor-in-chief of the RightForBucks News, a right-wing newsletter promoting Republican politics But in the February 2025 newsletter, he goes after his GOP colleagues, saying that they need to follow the Constitution.

"All across America we need ALL levels of government to abide by our federal and state constitutions," wrote Dawson. "Our Founding Fathers gave us a republican form of government, which is not a democracy. We have strayed far from this model, allowing unconstitutional laws and institutions to fester and impinge on our liberties.

"Sadly, our own Republican Party has become complicit with the lack of restraint of the government. Reform is needed in the GOP, and we can do this, but it will NOT be easy as the elites and donors pulling the strings will not give up power without a fight. It starts at taking back the lowest level – the local precinct committee position."

He made a plea for his readers to get involved, saying, "Corruption is rampant in America, infecting both major political parties! It is un-American and contrary to our founding principles."

Dawson doesn't mention Donald Trump in his attack on political parties other than to cheer on the new president.
