Geraldo Rivera is calling it quits after more than 20 years at Fox News.

The veteran journalist and TV personality on Thursday posted a video on Twitter confirming that he’s cutting ties with the right-wing outlet.

Rivera said his decision followed his firing from his role on “The Five” news panel talk show. He said he plans to provide more information on Friday when he appears on “Fox & Friends.”

Former Rep. Harold Ford Jr. (D-Tenn.) replaced Rivera on Thursday’s show, media journalist Brian Stelter reported.

The video of Rivera’s announcement was shot on a boat he was taking to Manhattan from Long Island, he said.

“So it doesn’t look like I’m going to be on The Five, I mean I’m not going to be on The Five. I’ve been fired from The Five, and as a result of that, I quit Fox,” Rivera said.

“I’ll have more to say about that tomorrow morning.”

Rivera joined Fox in 2001 after leaving CNBC to become the conservative cable channel’s war correspondent, Variety reports.

Rivera under his most recent contract hosts “Cops: All Access” on the cable channel’s streaming network, Fox Nation.

He was named an official member of “The Five” in January of last year, rotating with Ford and Jessica Tarlov as liberal-leaning panelists.

Rivera has clashed in recent months with some of the network’s other TV personalities, Variety reports.

Variety’s Brian Steinberg writes that “In recent months, however, Rivera’s appearances have seemed more combative, and he appeared to clash with Greg Gutfeld, one of the 'Five' regulars and, soon, one of Fox News’ new set of primetime opinion hosts. While Fox News executives have routinely allowed firebrand antics on air, they have tried to tamp down conflict on “The Five.” Juan Williams, a previous liberal panelist, left in May of 2021 after getting into a few segments that seemed overly argumentative, exacerbated by remote production requirements during the recent coronavirus pandemic. Williams, a former NPR commentator, cited a desire to stay near his family in Washington DC and not return to New York studio production following the end of separation mandated by the contagion.”

Fox News issued a statement to Raw Story confirming that it plans to honor the longtime journalist Friday on his last scheduled appearance on the network.

“We reached an amicable conclusion with Geraldo over the past few weeks and look forward to celebrating him on Fox & Friends Friday morning which will be his last appearance on the network,” a Fox News spokesperson said in a statement to Raw Story,” the statement said.
